Recently, US based company NuVision Solar announced plans to establish a heterojunction (HJT) solar cell and module production plant with an annual capacity of 2.5GW in the United States, with production scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. The specific location of the factory has not yet been announced.
According to the company, the factory will produce double-sided solar modules using non grid technology with a maximum output power of 800 W, and provide modules with a performance guarantee of up to 35 years and a 20-year product warranty. Its components will comply with the localization requirements of the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and customers can receive an additional 10% tax incentive as a result.
NuVision stated that its team has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing GW scale solar cells and modules. Its Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Tom Mueller has previously served as the Director of Research and Development at Maxeon Solar Technologies and SunPower Corporation, as well as held similar positions. He also served as the Director of Silicon Solar Cells and Modules at the Singapore Solar Energy Research Institute. Chief Operating Officer (COO) Paul Roraf previously held a key position at Heliene, a Canadian based photovoltaic manufacturer.
